1940

The company Rey & Lenferna, was founded by Messrs. Rene Rey and Louis Lenferna on the 27 November 1940.

Sugar Industry

Rey & Lenferna started its activities with the trade of used equipment & machineries from old Sugar Industries. With the development prevailing in the sugar industry at that time, the company was structured to become an engineering company. Its Head Office was situated at corner of Edith Cavell and Casernes Streets, Port Louis.

Electrical and Automotive Industry

Years later, some sugar industries such as Valona, Trianon, Bénarès and Ferney were bought back with the purpose to dismantle and engage in the resale of equipment & machineries to the other sugar industries.With the emergence of electrical installations in the sugar industries, the company proved to be attentive to the needs of the local market and became pioneer in the sale of Fletcher turbo alternators.In view to diversify, Rey & Lenferna took over the Lucas agency, giving rise to the Automotive division. The company was involved in the manufacturing of 600 LUCAS Batteries on a monthly basis.

1976

St Antoine Sugar Estate acquired Rey & Lenferna. It maintained its activities in the sugar industry and later on, expanded its operations to cover a diversified range of engineering products and services such as solar water heaters and diesel diagnostic.

1983

Moved headquarters from Edith Cavell Street, Port Louis to Bell Village.

1998

A major step in strengthening the company was taken in 1998, when Société Forancis and Kasa Textiles & Co Ltd acquired a significant ownership position in the company. This acquisition was the beginning of an era of international expansion.

2006

Acquisition of Forges Tardieu Group to diversify in Heavy Engineering and thus strengthen its presence in Continental Africa.

2013

Incorporation of Rey & Lenferna Ltd (Seychelles).

2014

Rey & Lenferna became part of the Nexus Automobile International Consortium, as founder member.

2016

Merger with ATS Ltd and its related companies. Through this merger, Rey & Lenferna extended its activities to serve the Textile and Clothing industry.

2017

Incorporation of Lubatech Ltd, a subsidiary of Rey & Lenferna Ltd, which commercializes VARTA batteries, WOLF lubricants and CORGHI garage equipment.

2018

Rey & Lenferna has broadened its product and services portfolio by providing unified communications solutions, data and networking solutions through its subsidiary Rey & Lenferna Technologies.
